1986-1990 Buick Riviera/1987-1992 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo/1988-1991 Buick Reatta
In the late 80’s, GM was trying out some new technology in luxury coupes, they had an “Electronics Control Center” (ECC) or later the “Visual Information Computer” (VIC). Its a CRT touch screen that controls radio, climate, etc. Only on the Riviera and its Trofeo twin and this awesome unique little hand built Buick Reatta.
I think they were awesome, but the more “mature” buyers at Buick and Olds were scared off by the technology and most cars were sold with regular button controls.
It’d suck if it broke though. (imagine that…80s computer technology malfunctioning? What a concept…)
